Eum divinis honoribus affecisle Sinopenses ad Pontum Euxinum, in Paphlagonia, legimus apud Straboneml. 12.Καὶ τὸν μὲν ἄλλον κόσμον τῆς πόλεως διεφυλάξεν ὁ Λούκουλλος, την` δὲ τοῦ Βιλλάρου σφαίραν ᾖρε καὶ τὸν Αὐτόλυκον Σθένιδος ἔργον, ὃν ενεῖνοι οἰκιςτην` ενόμιζον καὶ ἐτίμων ὡς θεὸν. ἦν δὲ καὶ μαντεῖον αὐτοῦ. Δοκεῖ δὲ τῶ τῷ Ι᾿άτονι συμπλευσάντων εἶναι καὶ καταςχεῖν αὐτὸν τὸν τόπον. Lucullus conservatis reliquis Sinopes ornamentis, Billari tamen Sphaeram abstulie et Sthenidos opus, Autolyci statuam, quem illi, urbis conditorem existimantes, divini colebant honoribus. Fuit etiam oraculum eius. Videtur is unus eorum fuisse, vi cum Iasone navigârunt et locum istum occupâsse.
